Political Muscle Being Flexed to Make States Agree to GST Options: Amit Mitra

The Centre has presented two options to the states under which they can borrow from the market to make up for the estimated deficit of Rs 2.35 lakh crore this fiscal. After the 41st meeting of the GST Council on August 27, Nirmala Sitharaman had said that the COVID-19 pandemic, which is an "Act of God", has hit the economy and GST collection.
